The Department for International Trade (DIT) is hosting ‘The Business Resilience Conference 2021’ on March 23 – 24. The virtual event has been organised by Julian Richardson, CEO of Parhelion, lead partner in the GeoFutures GreenInvest programme. It will bring together stakeholders with resilience challenges (public sector bodies and civil society) and resilience solutions (including insurers, risk financiers, broker and development consultants) – to learn, create, develop and implement strategies to strengthen regional and global resilience and help close the ‘protection gap’.
Climate change, natural catastrophes and environmental stress are creating new risks, acting as a ‘threat multiplier’ to increase the impact of existing risks. Encouraging more investment into the UK’s green industries will be crucial to how quickly and effectively we build back greener. Resilience finance is one key area that will impact how we deal with the risks of climate change and impact infrastructure.
